Airport

Charlotte Douglas International Airport

  • Address: 5501 Josh Birmingham Pkwy, Charlotte, NC 28208
  • Rental car companies are located in the Rental Car Facility in the Level 2 lobby of the Hourly Deck in front of the terminal.
  • There is no workshop shuttle service.

Hotels

SAE has secured several hotel room blocks for all participating teams and presenters.
Teams will be responsible for booking and paying for their hotel room needs.

Meals

  • Breakfast will not be provided.
  • Lunch will be provided Saturday and Sunday at Hendrick Motorsport.
  • Dinner will be provided at the Networking Night
  • Beverages and snacks will be made available daily.
  • Attendees are asked to complete this SURVEY by September 6th so dietary restrictions and attendance is captured.

Parking

  • Hotel. Be sure to check with hotel if parking is free or there is a charge.
  • Hendrick Motorsports. Attendees can park in designated EV Workshop parking lot at which will be immediately adjacent to the building. There is overflow parking nearby. Look for signage.

Registration

  • The four attending team members and one faculty advisor are required to be added to the team’s fast track roster on sae.org.
    • Suggestion is to bring variety of degree seeking students as not all content will be specific to just electric.
  • Instructions for adding members to the fast-track roster can be found here and a step by step guide can be downloaded directly here.

  • Deadline for completing fast track roster online SAE International team registration page is September 6, 2024 by 11:59 PM

Workshop Rules

• Access will only be granted to attendees registered on Fast Track Roster.
• Relaxed dress code during workshop sessions.
• Alcohol or Firearms are not permitted on the property.
• Smoking is prohibited except in designated areas.
• Attendees are allowed in designated areas only used for the workshop. You cannot wander off on your own.
• EV workshop attendees badge must always be worn and displayed.
