SAE International is informing all students, sponsors, and volunteers planning to attend one of the Formula SAE competitions in Brooklyn, Michigan, that the Hampton Inn located in Jackson, Michigan has permanently closed. This was one of the recommended hotel room blocks published on the competition websites and has since been removed. SAE recently became aware of this information and wishes to ensure all participants are aware to avoid any inconveniences.

Please note, one of our valued volunteers brought this matter to our attention as to date, this volunteer has not received direct communication from the Hampton Inn or Hilton entity notifying him of the situation. If not for a side conversation, he would not have known to investigate further and possibly leaving him stranded without a hotel the week of competition.

SAE urges all participants who may have booked a reservation at this location to:

• Confirm your reservation status: Check your Hilton profile or booking confirmation to see if your reservation is still active as it will be false information for this specific hotel.
• Find alternative accommodations: Secure a room at another hotel as soon as possible.
• Monitor for potential charges: Ensure you are not charged for a reservation at the closed property.
