SAE International has released the 2026 Formula SAE ruleset, bringing official confirmation of the competition's updated technical, safety, and procedural standards. Required submission templates, static event concepts, and technical inspection forms will be updated and published between October 6, 2025, and January 12, 2026.

Teams should note that the Driverless Supplement is not yet finalized and will be published separately. In the meantime, teams interested in driverless participation are encouraged to reference the 2025 Driverless Supplement, as there are no significant technical rule changes compared to 2025. The only exception is that teams must use their vehicle built for the 2026 competition.

Additionally, teams that submitted rules inquiries after August 2025 for the 2026 season may have experienced delays while the rules were being finalized. Responses to these inquiries will be issued shortly.
