The Formula SAE Electric community is moving boldly into the future! We are excited to announce the release of the Formula SAE Driverless Supplement Rules Document and the Formula SAE Driverless Roadmap, providing teams with the latest guidance and a clear vision for the evolving landscape of Formula SAE Electric competition.

These resources are designed to help teams, faculty advisors, volunteers, and sponsors understand the requirements, expectations, and opportunities for participating in the Driverless (DV) category, as well as the strategic direction for autonomous electric racing in the coming years.

Participation in the Driverless category is optional for the 2026 competition season.

We encourage all teams to download the documents, review the supplement rules, and begin planning their path to compete in this exciting new category. Participating teams should also monitor the FSAE Mobile App for updates and changes. SAE will be updating Series Resources with templates and reference files under the newly created Driverless Resources and Templates section in Technical Inspection Resources.
